Userlane, a digital productivity platform for healthcare, has announced a strategic partnership with Bytes Technology Group to help NHS organisations unlock frontline productivity from their digital systems.
NHS trusts have invested heavily in digital infrastructure, from EPRs and clinical systems to workforce and finance platforms. But too often, the productivity gains these systems should deliver are lost to inefficient workflows, inconsistent processes, and staff spending more time navigating software than delivering care.
The partnership between Bytes and Userlane directly addresses this challenge. Userlane’s platform sits as a layer on top of existing applications to streamline how staff complete digital tasks, reducing clicks, eliminating errors, and cutting the time lost to system complexity. The result: faster workflows, fewer support tickets, and more capacity returned to patient-facing activity.
Through this collaboration, Bytes will offer Userlane’s platform as part of its healthcare technology portfolio, enabling NHS trusts to improve the productivity of their existing digital investments without additional infrastructure or lengthy implementation programmes.
“NHS organisations don’t have a technology gap. They have a productivity gap,” said Rob King, CRO at Userlane. “The systems are in place. The challenge is making sure every member of staff can use them quickly, correctly, and without friction. That’s what this partnership with Bytes is designed to deliver.”
“Bytes has a long-standing track record of helping NHS organisations get more from their technology investments,” said Rob Knott, Healthcare Lead at Bytes Technology Group. “Userlane adds a critical capability, helping trusts turn digital investment into measurable frontline productivity improvement.”
Userlane is already deployed across more than 10 acute NHS hospitals, where it is delivering significant reductions in training costs, improving data accuracy and task completion rates, and helping trusts identify and reduce software waste. The partnership with Bytes will extend this proven capability to a wider range of NHS organisations.
The partnership will focus on helping NHS organisations reduce the time staff spend on routine digital tasks, improve consistency and compliance across critical workflows, lower the volume and cost of IT support requests, and accelerate time-to-productivity when new systems or updates are deployed.
As the NHS Frontline Productivity programme moves into its next phase, the ability to demonstrate measurable productivity gains from existing digital systems will become increasingly important for trust leadership teams. Bytes and Userlane aim to provide a practical, deployable solution that delivers those gains.
